Jeremy Sheldon is an Anglo-Indian-Chinese writer and producer born and raised in London, England. The son of Richard Sheldon, an architect, and Cissy Chu, a nurse who moved to the UK in the late 1960s, he studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and returned to UEA in 1995 to study for his MA before writing two works of fiction (The Comfort Zone and The Smiling Affair) that were subsequently published by Jonathan Cape. He began a career in feature film development in 2000, working for companies such as Miramax, Working Title and Icon Entertainment, before moving on to work as a script-editor and writer for projects on both sides of the Atlantic.
