Originally from Hingham, Massachusetts, Dan attended Bowling Green State University for one year to study Digital Arts. After just a few weeks in the program, he decided to return to music and to study music engineering. Once he transferred to Columbia College in Chicago, he found himself surrounded by other students working in film, and quickly shifted his focus to sound design for film and video. After working on a number of student films and several post houses, Dan graduated cum laude in 2010 and moved to Los Angeles, California.
