Born and raised on Manhattans Upper East side in a predominately Caucasian housing project. Mark Anthony Ramirez grew up playing, fighting, and cracking wise from the moment his parents reluctantly let him out of the house. Educated at some of New York's Finest Catholic Schools and raised by blue collar parents, Ramirez began his journey on the streets of N.Y.C. going on adventures with his friends through the 5 boroughs toughest areas. Whether it was playing baseball, Street Tackle Football on Concrete or getting into brawls in neighborhoods you've only seen in post apocalyptic movies. Ramirez was able to gain a unique perspective on the diversity of his hometown. Though originally very shy and quiet, his time spent at John Jay College of Criminal Justice taking pre law courses and studying political science, started to break him out of his shell. The first sign of his comedic talent would become apparent during speech 101 in which he showed up without a prepared three minute speech and when called upon riffed a ten minute speech for which he got an A+. His professor asked him what was his major. Ramirez replied that he was pre law. The professor announced to the class that Mr. Ramirez had earned an A for the course and no longer needed to show up to class. This was to be the first sign that would lead down a road of lost jobs, a broken marriage, bad credit, missed acting opportunities and eventually his first performance at Stand Up NY in 1997. Ramirez Philosophical, scholarly, logical, common sense infused high energy comedy belies his 6'3 broad shouldered exterior. Seen and featured on ABC TV Coverage of the N.Y. Comedy Festival , MTV, The Food Networks Giving You The Business, Restaurant Stakeout and Comedy Central; Heard and seen on Howard Stern, The Joey Reynolds Show, National Lampoon Radio, and Court TV Radio, The Me & Vinnie Show, Cosmo Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio, and many radio programs nationally; Mark Anthony Ramirez is one of today's fastest rising stars of comedy. With a multiracial racial heritage comprising of: Latino, Black, Caucasian and Asian, Ramirez is "America." His style is high energy bluntness with Bill Clintonesque charm, rapier wit, and a Voltarian philosophy. Producers and reporters often turn to Ramirez when they need a fresh, original and unique perspective on race, religion, family, politics and relationships.
