Marilia Nogueira

Graduated in Film, with a specialization in Literature, Marilia Nogueira is a Brazilian award winning filmmaker. Her short films were screened in several festivals in Brazil and abroad. Among other achievements, Nogueira had a feature film treatment selected for Colon Film Development Workshop aimed at young Latin American filmmakers, organized by Fundación Typa, in Argentina. Nogueira is also founder of the Cabiria Screenplay Award, a screenwriting contest for stories with female lead roles created in 2015. Later in 2019, the project expanded into Cabiria Festival - Women & Audiovisual, an event dedicated to the production carried out by women and people of different gender identities to promote greater representation and diversity on screens and behind the cameras. A boosting space for screenwriters, a showcase for filmmakers, a new window for the public to access different narratives and broaden their view.
