Joel Paredes was born in Hanford, CA but was raised in Woodland, CA. He has competed and set national and state records in power lifting, all before the age of 18. He is featured in the documentary "Bigger, Faster, Stronger." On June 23, 2013 he made his professional debut in mixed martial arts in the Gladiator Challenge bringing home a victory with a knockout in the third round.
