Yasmin Shiraz is an award winning Writer/Director (Can She Be Saved?) who initially took her love of music and created the hip hop magazine, Mad Rhythms - then took her love of books to create the best sellers The Blueprint for My Girls and Retaliation - then took her true calling to bring social issues, talent, and creativity to film with launching her independent studio, Still Eye Rise Films. Her first film, Can She Be Saved? - was a groundbreaking documentary that was selected in 15 film festivals nationally and internationally. Can She Be Saved? won the Best First Film Award at the International Youth Film Festival and the Best Documentary Award at the NC Black Film Festival. Shiraz is a nationally known icon in the area of youth issues and her brand of entertainment redefines coming of age stories. Her second film, They Call Me Dae is a prequel to her best selling book Retaliation. She and Still Eye Rise Films is in various stages of production on a variety of narrative and documentary film projects.
