Ed Hattaway was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama and grew up mostly in Copperas Cove, Texas where his father, Retired LTC William E. Hattaway, an Army helicopter pilot was stationed. He also spent 3 years in Nuremberg, Germany and one year in London. Ed grew up in the 60's and played baseball throughout his school years. He was voted "Most Wittiest," his senior year, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He earned a bachelor's degree in History, though spent all his spare time help building sets for the Drama dept. and acting in a few plays. He supported himself through the years doing mostly interior carpentry work and in 2009 decided to become an actor. He has been a student of Laurel Vouvrays since 2010, who teaches the Meisner Method. Ms. Vouvray was a former pupil of Stamford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. He took a year off in 2013-2014 to be the sole caregiver to his mother and father, both of whom have since passed. He said that year with his parents, never leaving their side, is the most defining moment of his life. (2015) Ed currently lives in Austin, Texas and is represented by Acclaim Talent. When he not working on his "emotional preparation" or trying to flush out a character with an impediment, he is probably dancing to a live band somewhere in town. He does volunteer work with military veterans and handicapped children.
