Jessica Newton is a British actress born in 2009, living just outside of London. She is a naturally versatile actress, successful with highly emotive scripts as well as fun, upbeat work. Jessica's first professional acting role was a corporate film for Kent and Essex Police, which was soon followed short films, an award-winning charity film for Breast Cancer Now, as well as TV commercials in the UK and across Europe, and further corporate work. Jessica is best known for her part as Lizzie in the short film Freeze Me; dicing with death as she and her father race to save her sister's life. Director, Joel Scott-Halkes, said: "I really can't tell you how excited I am to work with the incredible Jessica! She is so utterly perfect for the role and has such an impressive emotional intelligence for her age. We did a full seven days of casting just for this role and worked through a list of multiple thousands of applications, and in the end Jessica was above and beyond our top choice." Her performance in a fundraising film for Breast Cancer Now won the A-List Hollywood Silver Award winner for Acting Performance. Director, Duncan Christie said: "In order to tell this story truthfully, we had to get into Jessica's mind-set. As one expects for a film so heavily reliant on a child actor's performance, our casting process was exhaustive. We saw a lot of great young actresses, but Jessica had that spark which ultimately made her the only choice. She has the emotional intelligence and charisma to carry a film of this weight."
