John Joyner is an independent filmmaker, writer, editor, and actor/voice-over actor, residing in New York City. John was about six years old when he decided the visual art of storytelling was to be his calling. Upon graduating high school John moved to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art University, where he received his formal training. He received his BA with honors in motion picture directing in 2006 and relocated to NYC. There he found work as lead editor to the award winning documentary feature, Tiny Tears, which starred the voice of Danny Glover, premiered at the United Nations, and screened at the Cannes International Film Festival 2008. Since then John has continued to augment each aspect of his craft. He has lectured and written on the technical side of editing, acted for stage and screen, and directed a number of short films. His most recent short Simply Sandra screened at Cannes in 2015 and has found distribution on Amazon Prime. Simply Sandra is now in development for a feature length film.
