Amanda hails from a theatrical background with both parents having worked in the entertainment industries. Her mother, Pauline Mee, was a dancer/singer/actor who appeared on stage and TV and her father, Al Paige, was a comedian and compere who originally teamed up with Dave Allen as a double act before striking out on his own, regularly hosting many of the big music shows of the 1960s, working with artists such as Marty Wilde, Joe Brown, Mark Wynter, Eden Kane and many other stars from that era. As for Amanda, she started working out in local radio, graduating from radio jingles to writing and producing short films via National Lottery funding. Regularly placed in national and international screenwriting competitions, she won the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing for Children In 2015 with children's TV screenplay 'Hex Tecs'. In 2016, she was a finalist in Idris Elba's 'Write to Green Light' initiative - run in conjunction with Lionsgate UK - and, since then, she has attended one of the 'Coronation Street' storyliners' workshop and self-published her children's illustrated book, 'Mr. Gum 's Choppers', on Amazon Kindle. Amanda has also worked as a freelance lecturer - specializing in screenwriting for children - and in 2018 co-wrote her first feature 'Introspectum Motel' for Mobula Films.
