Kelly Downes

Kelly Downes was born in East London. At a early age Kelly wanted to perform but it was not until primary school she won her first role in the school play Ozzie and Throwz. Whilst taking drama as a GCSE Kelly was spotted by a Theatre Royal Stratford East scout and at 17 she won the only place in the youth theatre out of 300 people. At 18 she became a full equity member. She has played various characters from the much loved Nancy in Oliver Twist, to Lily a young heroin addict in junk. In 2006 she went to LA to meet various industry professionals - Paul Webber- V.P of casting at MGM Studios, Pen Densham writer and producer of robin hood to name a few. On returning from LA she was cast in Born of Hope and has just been cast in 1066 as Judith. Apart from acting Kelly is very passionate about football and animals and sponsors a lot of animal charities. She also has 2 St Bernard's who she absolutely adores. Kelly believes that no matter how hard it gets you have to have faith and keep believing that you will get there and you will succeed in your goal.
