Jonathan Isaac Jackson is an independent writer and director based in New Orleans, Louisiana. After attending the University of New Orleans, Jonathan founded The American New Wave Media Group, a creative agency made to assist local music artist and small businesses. In 2016, American New Wave was changed to The Colored Section as a reflection of the lack of minority opportunities in Hollywood. Jonathan was selected for The New Orleans Film Festivals inaugural "Emerging Voices" program, sponsored by The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2014. In the program, he was mentored by Emmy Award nominated director/producer Dawn Porter, who's films include documentary's "Gideon's Army" which premiered on HBO and "Spies Of Mississippi", which premiered on PBS. Also in 2014, he was selected into HBO's "Project Greenlight" Top 200 after thousands of submissions. In 2016, "Greenlight", a short film written and directed by Jonathan, came in 3rd in the PBS Online Film Festival.
