Jonathan Varjabedian

California-based physician, author (My Dear Son Garabed, published by Gomidas Institute Press), and photographer. Particularly interested in Ottoman Armenian history, particularly of the village of Efkere in the Kayseri Turkey region. He has documented the history of this village on his website. He has also spent years documenting the blues musicians of the Detroit area, taking thousands of black-and-white photographs of these musicians between the years 1989 and 1995, as well as conducting interviews with these musicians. His photographs have appeared in Living Blues Magazine, Juke Blues Magazine, the Detroit News, Conde Naste Traveler, and numerous other publications.
