Born in Bohumin, the Czech Republic. She has been composing music since her childhood with focus on film music and classical music. Tatiana Mikova graduated with a master's degree with distinction in Music Composition (Composing for Film and TV) from University of West London, London College of Music, the United Kingdom. She also studied classical music composition and instrumentation under prof. Milan Jira - composer and pedagogue of Prague Conservatory and Course of Instrumental Composition at Oxford University, Oudce. Tatiana Mikova is a composer, orchestrator/arranger based in London (UK), who has written music for motion pictures and television films/series, as well as contemporary classical music works. She composes film music in a wide range of instrumentation (orchestral, electronic, world or combination). Tatiana orchestrates/arranges her film scores herself and occasionally orchestrates works of other composers. She cooperates with studio film orchestras - The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Her film music credits include: Herself, Incorrigible, The Forest of the Dead, Bathory: Countess of Blood, The Treasure of Anna Hawkins, Trabant vs South America/ Trabant at the End of The World, Trabant Goes to Africa, Trabant on the Silk Road, Hope, Ctibor and Mr. Sadilek, The Final Straw, Tempter, Intermezzo, as well as music orchestration/arrangement for feature films: May and Magical Duvet. Besides film scoring, she also composes classical music. She has written orchestral works (Symphony No.1, Impressions of Nature, Concerto Grosso, Fantasia for Piano and Symphony Orchestra, Overture - commissioned and world premiered/TV-broadcast by Minnesota Sinfonia/USA, etc.), as well as a number of works for chamber ensembles or solo instruments (La Défleurie, Two Nonets, String Quartet, etc.) Her two compositions for nonet performed by famous ensemble The Czech Nonet have been radio-broadcast by American Public Media, as a part of the most-listened-to classical music radio program Performance Today, and also broadcast by other radio stations worldwide.
