Dana Serao's career began as a photographer, but she quickly learned that still images didn't have the storytelling power that film has. Soon there-after she began her studies in TV and Film and now has an Associates degree in Broadcasting and Media Studies, a Bachelor's in Creative Writing and a certificate in New Media Technology. Dana is passionate about her work. As a writer, director, producer and editor, she is constantly inspired by the people and the world around her. She is a visual storyteller. Dana's directorial debut occurred in 2008 with the zombie-comedy called Ashen Falls. A feature length film about a girl who moved to the wrong town, at the wrong time. It was later released as a web series. Since 2008, Dana's worked for a Video Production Agency called Grey Sky Films. Her work with Grey Sky is primarily commercial and corporate promotional and she's had many opportunities as both a creative producer, director and editor for clients such as Prudential Financial, Regeneron, Entenmann's, Ashley Furniture, Propel and more. Over the last 15 years Dana's had the opportunity to work on several independent projects as well. She wrote and produced an award-winning comedic short called The White Spruce, produced a dramatic short with fellow female-filmmaker Stacey Van Gorder, called Steps, also award winning, and a feature-length music documentary called Tweed.
