Charles is a composer, music producer, sound designer, and eclectic musician accomplished in a wide range of styles, working collaboratively with directors and producers to optimize the value of film, television, and commercial projects. He began composing at the age of 8 while taking private piano lessons and determined as a teenager to turn his love for music into a life-long passion. To that end, Charles completed undergraduate studies at Baylor University with a B.M. in composition. He went on to work on his master's degree in composition at Rice University and has served as music director at several churches in Houston and Dallas. For the last several years, Charles has been focused on composing for film and television. Charles' credits include scoring with Parker Wiksell tracks placed in 3 MTV television shows, other tracks placed in an A&E show and HBO's VICE, an award-winning television series on PBS and a web series, a feature film, several independent short films, several national TV / internet commercials, and a live show. Charles and Parker also provided sound editing for another award-winning independent film. Parker's and Charles' industrial hybrid production music album "Industrial Machines Rise" was released in October 2018 by Velvet Green Music. The premier of Charles' song cycle "Four Poems by Emily Dickinson" for soprano voice, cello, and piano was presented by his daughter Melissa Mallory at her senior voice recital at San Jose State University. His arrangements have been performed by St. Luke's Orchestra, New York City, St. George's Episcopal Church Choir, New York City, the St. Olaf Orchestra, St. Martin's Episcopal Church Choir, Houston, Texas, and Truro Anglican Church, Fairfax, Virginia.
