Dakota earned his MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA graduate school, selling his first script in his last year of the program. Providing coverage for numerous production companies such as Arnold Kopelson and East-West Film Partners, he later worked as Director of Development for Stan Lee's production company, New Millennium. His theater background includes writing and directing the critically acclaimed play "Longshots." Also a music producer with his own studio, he has toured and globally released three albums with two rock bands. He made his directorial debut with his feature film Janked at the Festival de Cannes on May of 2012.
