Kinga Gorski was born in Kalamata, Greece to Polish parents who, after only 7 months, immigrated to Ontario, Canada where her sister was born just over a year later. After 5 years on the east coast, Kinga and her family drove across Canada and relocated to the suburbs of Coquitlam outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, later moving to Port Coquitlam at the age of 13. In the 8th grade, Kinga caught the acting bug; there was no particular inspiration to be an artist from a specific movie or actor, as tends to happen with many people, but it was an intense feeling that surfaced within her and she took serious note of it. During a practice with her Steve Nash Tri-City Youth Basketball team, Kinga mentioned she was looking to get her foot in the acting door; coincidentally one of her teammates mentioned she was enrolled at Moonstone Theatre Company, where they focused on Shakespearean plays. Kinga immediately jumped at the opportunity since Moonstone was conveniently located near her home in downtown Port Coquitlam. After spending 2 years there, having performed 'The Tempest' and 'The Taming of the Shrew', Kinga made the transition into film and television acting at the age of 16 - first studying with the widely well-received Andrew MacIlroy in Vancouver. She continued to take part-time classes at various schools and training facilities around Vancouver, trying to study with as many working acting instructors as she could. She would soak up as much information as possible like a sponge and filter what worked for her and what didn't as an actor. After a casting session held at one of her classes, Kinga booked her first audition ever for a short film made by students at the University of British Columbia; the film, 'Gorilla Love', went on to being accepted into the Persistence of Vision Film Festival in Vancouver as well as the Montreal World Film Festival. Shortly thereafter, she graduated from Terry Fox High School in 2007 with the Excellence in Acting Award and the Sheri Sharma Acting Scholarship which further propelled her drive to establish a plausible career. In 2009, Kinga and her team won Best Film, Best Writing and Best Lead Actor at the 24-Hour Vancouver Film Race for their short film 'Goldfish Syndrome', coming in 3rd place overall out of 20 top films across North America. She also had a supporting role in an indie short that was accepted into the San Jose Film Festival later that year. Through networking on and off set, Kinga was unexpectedly presented with many opportunities to venture into modeling; as she was always first and foremost dedicated to acting, Kinga decided to stay unrepresented as a model and freelance instead. She openly accepted many offers that came her way, and after doing several print shoots she worked her way into promotional jobs, one of which was the Coors Light & Maxim Golf Experience. Not long after, she found herself walking the runway at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards Gala, as well as in 3 seasons of Vancouver Fashion Week for local and international designers. After training part-time at various schools in Vancouver for over 5 years, by the age of 21 Kinga was accepted into the acclaimed full-time Intensive program at Vancouver Acting School, where she continued to solidify the foundations of her technique and familiarize herself with the business aspects of this incredibly exhilarating but subjective industry. The program is diploma-credited and focuses on acting for film, television, and voiceover for animation, commercials and narration; Kinga had never received voiceover training before the program, which is the only one in Vancouver that offers it, but was thrilled to have booked her first voiceover gig for Children's Hospital after only 4 months studying in the field. During that time, Kinga also just completed writing her first full-length feature film script, which she is considering bringing to life one day. At the very least, it will look fantastic as a piece of art framed on her wall. At the moment, Kinga is based out of Vancouver and continuing part-time training at various studios in the beautiful city. New York and Los Angeles are on the horizon for future studies.
