Colombian-born filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor. His films and collaborations, mostly non-fiction, have been awarded nationally and internationally at festivals such as Berlinale, IFFR, Visions du Reel, and Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Canadian Film Centre. Among the titles that stand out within his repertoire are “Presidio Modelo” (2009), “Jelena's Song” (2010), “La Pesca” (2017) and “Bicentenario” (2020) and “La Laguna del Soldado” (2024), his latest project, an experimental documentary that delves into the Liberator's journey in search of the ghost of the liberator Simón Bolivar, 200 years after his liberation campaign. “Laguna del Soldado” participated in ‘Docs in Progress’ at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, where it was awarded the ‘Docs in Orbit Invitation Award’.
