Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Josh Joplin has spent years endlessly touring North America, Europe, and Australia as Josh Joplin. His first hit song, 2001's "Camera One," reached # 1 Triple A and #17 on Billboard's Top 20. Then came 2011's "Blue Skies Again," recorded by Jessica Lea Mayfield, which has over a million downloads on iTunes. It was also featured in season 3 of Showtime's hit show, The Affair. In 2013, Blum retired from the road, dropped the pseudonym, and founded NarrowMoat, a small production company that focuses on short-form mixed media such as one-act plays, animation, and film shorts. In 2019, his first fictional narrative, About Colonia, was featured at film festivals around the world and was nominated for Best Film at the prestigious Queens World Film Festival, where it won Best Actress. Blum is in pre-production on Boys Clap, Girls Dance, a short animated film from acclaimed Chicago animator, Dena Springer (You Are Here). It's set to be released in 2023 featuring a soundtrack from Glockabelle and a new piece from singer/songwriter, Yesol. Blum still writes songs and plays music with his bands Among The Oak & Ash and GpYr. On April 3, 2021, GpYr released a full-length album called Likes On The Lonely Web. Josh has appeared as a musical guest on Letterman, The Late-Late Show, and Conan O'Brien. He was also a founding member of Super Model Music Agency whose clients included HBO, Nike, Coca-Cola, Bark Bark, and Turner Networks. He founded the critically praised musical collective, Among The Oak & Ash in 2008. Vanity Fair described them as "... something magical... remarkably relevant and modern," and NPR music critic/contributor, John Schaefer named their debut (Verve/Forecast) self-titled release as "Album Of The Year." Joshua David Blum lives in New York with his wife and daughter. His first children's book, Polar Bears Are Cool, illustrated by the celebrated Portland based painter/sculptor Joanna Jackson.
