Yaasib Vázquez

Yaasib Vázquez was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1984. He lives and works in Mexico City. Studied cinematography at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfcia (CCC) where he graduated with honours. In his first shortfilm documentary Yuban. In 2012 this film was awarded with an Ariel by the Academia Mexicana de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas and also was selected by the International Documentary Filmfestival in Amsterdam (IDFA). His creativity and nature have taken him to make his opera prima Takeda, documental film, which he directs, participating as a cinematographer in part of the film. His experience working a long side, some of the best directors and cinematographers in Mexico, have helped him to develop his unique style, a mix of an educated eye, technic and a sensitive and contemplative spirit.
