Johnny M. Wu was born in Shanghai and raised in Queens, NY. Johnny plays Dr. Randall Shentu, the hospital's Chief Compliance Officer on NBC's Chicago Med. Johnny recently worked with Denzel Washington and Michael B. Jordan in the film A Journal For Jordan. He leads the short film Two Wongs written and directed by Frank Harts. The film takes on Asian hate crime and has landed at seven film festivals so far. Up next, Johnny will be making his directorial debut with a poker crime story film titled We Run Bad. Johnny has also guest-starred on many major TV series including New Amsterdam, Manifest, Elementary, High Maintenance, Blue Bloods and he has recurred on The Good Wife, Law & Order: SVU and 24. Johnny stumbled into his passion for storytelling during his final year at Stuyvesant High School after taking an acting class as an elective. He was slated to start at SUNY Binghamton as a finance major but decided to start there as a theatre major instead. He went on to earn his MFA in Acting from UC San Diego. Johnny is on faculty at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale where he teaches the final year MFA's.
