Rachel Johnson is an award winning filmmaker. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and from a family of ten, Rachel quickly developed an interest in storytelling and acting. Her ability to work well with actors and tell stories served as a catalyst in developing her passion for filmmaking. She went on to cultivate her craft of film directing and screenwriting while at New York University Film School as a Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar among other honors. She has earned numerous production and film awards including the George Heinemann Production Award, a Warner Bros. Film Award, a CINE Golden Eagle Award, the Fox Television, Benjamin L. Hooks Fellowship, an African Academy Movie Award and a New York City Council Citation for her work in the arts to name a few. Her films have screened at numerous film festivals all over the world and have also earned many film festival accolades. Rachel's films feature diverse and dynamic characters with equally compelling narratives. She is developing original material for both short form and long form including her feature film directorial debut.
