Adele Kelly was born Adele Hasanbegovich July 8, 1924 in Gary, Indiana to a Ukrainian Catholic mother and a Bosnian Turk father. She always wanted to be an entertainer, but her strict Muslim father would not hear of it. After graduating from Lew Wallace HS she modeled for various newspapers and trade shows, and later coached participants in the Miss Indiana pageant. She married Grayson Kellenburger in 1945, and was known afterward as "Kelly" to her friends. She loved working as a movie extra in Chicago whenever she could. "Living Venus" is the only movie where she was credited. Adele and Grayson had three children and were divorced in 1964. In 2012 she moved to southern Michigan to live with her son.
