Jackson Lago was a brazilian politician and a physician. Began his political career in the late 1960s, participating in events against the military dictatorship. Governor of brazilian state of Maranhão from January 1, 2007 to April 16, 2009 and the mayor of São Luís on three occasions (1989-1992, 1997-2000, and 2001-2002). Died from prostate cancer.
