Born in a small village in Igdir, Turkey, Ikram was the third child of nine born. When he was nineteen years of age Anthon Ikram Umit moved to live on his own in Istanbul. He started his acting career in a few Turkish television series, commercials and Music videos. Once completing his finance accounting degree he moved to Spain. Where he studied Spanish and while he working as a tour operator he was able to mix with a variety of people which opened his insights to the many cultures and people of the World. He returned to Istanbul where he then began his introduction to the Japanese culture and language. Then he migrated to Melbourne, Australia where he endeavoured his first experience in stage acting with the National Theatre. It was during this time that he broadened his horizons with acting experience and was involved in many theatrical projects and short theatre shows. This opened his interest in to short films where he began his first experience as a director. Anthon Ikram Umit has since directed, produced and acted in many short films. Some of these are "Flat Mate, Love and Jealousy, Unforgettable Love story, November Rain, Feature film called How Good It Would It Be where he acted in one of the lead roles. He also has directed music videos. Anthon Ikram Umit has a very distinct poetry style where he has captured the sentiments of lost love, love and the connection to Sufism, which are some of his best works; Best known are "Snow flower, Don't go, I can no longer see, To fall in love. Anthon Ikram Umit truly captures the sentiments of the wounded and loving heart where his poetry truly transports its reader on a connective journey. He is currently working on feature films and projects. His most recent project is a documentary called "The Blue Road."
