Michael David Marshall was born into a lower middle class family in Detroit, Michigan in 1988. He spent most of his youth watching television and playing video games. At age 16 he attended Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio, where he became heavily involved with theater and took college level video production courses. During this time he began reading every filmmaking book he could get his hands on and decided that making movies was to be his life. Due to financial trouble, he was unable to attend any established film production program. Instead, he studied at Western Michigan University for a Bachelor's of Business Administration with a second major in Film Studies. Throughout college he would continue studying both the artistic and commercial aspects of filmmaking on his own while shooting several short films. He did all of this with the hopes of attending a reputable graduate level film program and thereby getting the proper education and connections to enter the film industry, where he planned to earnestly work his way up to the top. After graduating and enduring a personal tragedy and the onset of unfortunate financial circumstances, he was unable to attend graduate school. Having dedicated his life to his mortally wounded cinematic aspirations, he went into a deep depression that would either make or break him. An avid reader of ancient wisdom, he saw himself as being on what the Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu termed Death Ground; a desperate place, void of any hope where man's only hope is to fight bravely with all of his wit and strength and no regard for consequence. Admittedly unprepared to shoot feature length films, he hastily wrote a script based on Sparky, a memorable character from his short films, whom he could play himself. He rallied together his remaining friends and hastily began shooting his first feature length film, _Frank's Plight(2012)_. After almost two years of struggle and compromise Frank's Plight was released on DVD in October 2012. He is quietly penning the script for his sophomore feature, which is rumored to be slated for release in 2014.
