Thomas Bewley was born in Sussex and brought up in Kent, where he attended the King's School, Canterbury. At Oxford he was a member of OUDS, for whom he played Gloucester in King Lear, which after selling out at the Oxford Playhouse went on to tour France and Italy. After teaching overseas in West Africa and Turkey Thomas returned to teaching English and Drama in Kent, as well as getting married and fathering a daughter and a son. This was followed by 11 years working in PR for the National Farmers' Union and four years as a publications editor for Balliol College, Oxford. Since training with The Actors' Company in Hoxton, London, he has worked as an actor from his home in Abingdon, which he shares with his wife Marie-France.
