Composer, singer/songwriter, music producer Zory Burner studied music theory and played the piano for 10 years (School of Performing Arts), including solo or duo classical concerts every year, then she concentrated primarily on writing music and lyrics, as well as singing. Having been a part of a Bulgarian Orthodox church choir for 7 years, and directing the choir during its last year, Zory's compositional style is greatly inspired by the Pre-Renaissance Byzantine chants, as well the Bulgarian folklore. Her training and experience in many aspects of music was enriched by spending a few years of studies in Moscow; later she graduated from university with a BA in English Philology and MA in British Studies, specializing in Film Studies (dissertation: Shakespeare in Film). Towards the end of 2008, Zory moved to London to pursue her dreams professionally. Having worked with several recording studios and put 3 singles on the market, as well as leading several UK unsigned charts for weeks, in 2010 she released her debut album through her own label, while steadily progressing as a composer in the film industry. Zory's niche is in creating a hybrid of styles within the world fusion genre; she's known for the element of mystery and a haunting feel to her music. Her work includes scoring short films and online mini series, screened at various local and international film festivals, creating the soundtrack to several live dance choreographies, performed at London's Robin Howard Dance Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2013, as well as writing and arranging the music to a brand new Christian musical.
