Ada Karamanyan is a casting director, consultant, writer, and activist based out of Seattle, WA. She is the casting associate for The Playwrights Realm in NY. Prior casting affiliations include work for Magic Theatre, Next Chapter Podcasts, Radical Evolution, Island Shakespeare Festival, Baltimore Center Stage, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Arizona Theatre Co., Play On Shakespeare (in collaboration with Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Classic Stage Company), ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, New City Theater, and New York Theatre Workshop. She has had the pleasure of working alongside casting directors Karyn Casl, Paul Davis, Rebecca Feldman, Margaret Layne, and Dale Brown. In addition to casting, Ada served as a producing artistic leader for 2 years with MJ Kaufman and Kit Yan for Trans Lab, a developmental playwriting fellowship for transgender, non-binary, and gender non-confirming writers and directors. Ada was born in Los Angeles and raised on Whidbey Island in Washington state, and began her foray into the arts world as a performer prior to her work in casting.
