Shane Proctor topped his first sheep at the tender age of 3. He soon followed that up, learning to ride calves and later on steers. By the age of 16 he was competing in all 6 rodeo events in high school. He qualified for the high school finals in bareback and saddle bronc riding twice and in the bull riding three times. Although standing out in the bull riding, he continued to compete in all six events throughout college. Going to Northwest Wyoming and then later on to Montana state University competing on a rodeo scholarship. Going to the college finals twice and placing 4th in the bareback riding, 5th in the saddle bronc riding and 6th in the bull riding. Winning 3rd in the all around events. He progressed to the PBR challenger circuit and then after qualifying for the Copenhagen Challenger finals in Columbus, OH he got his break and made it onto the PBR's Built Ford Tough Events. The most memorable moment in his career came in Yakima, Wa. At the PBR US smokeless tobacco challenger event in May 2006. The 91 point trip won the short go round and earned Proctor a second place finish at the event.
