Aijaz Khan, born in Mumbai, comes from a strong film lineage. His father was a film director and worked on Mother India as an assistant director. His uncle Nariman Irani and Anwar Siraj were accomplished cinematographers and his grand aunt Ismat Chughtai was the celebrated Urdu writer. Aijaz started his journey with ad film. He directed and produced many ad films for leading brands. His debut film The White Elephant (2009) premiered at the prestigious International Film Festival of India. His second film, Baankey Ki Crazy Baraat, (2016) a comedy which was well received at the Box Office. His third feature film, Hamid (2018) received tremendous critical acclaim both in India and abroad. It won several awards at prestigious film festivals. It also won two national awards. It was a compelling story set in the conflict ridden Kashmir. With Hamid winning two national awards, Aijaz is the third generation in his family to win a national award. Aijaz also directed three episodes of the popular web series, Out of Love. Currently, Aijaz is working on a sports based feature film and his passion project, Twice Born which is a period love story set in Kerala and Benaras. Aijaz is an ardent cinema lover and watches at least one film a day, across genres, countries, and is a great proponent of world cinema. He's into fitness and enjoys jogging and playing badminton. His other passion includes photography and developing new ideas across genres and thinking out of the box.
