Nicolae Baltateanu was born on November, 26 1893 in Drobeta - Turnu Severin, Mehedinti county, Romania. He started playing small parts in 1917, in private theaters. From 1918 on, till the end of his life, he was employed by the "National Teatre" in Bucharest. He acted in plays like "The Night Asylum" ("Azilul de Noapte") by Maxim Gorki, "Three Sisters" ("Trei Surori") by Anton Pavlovici Cechov, "Tartuffe" by Molière, "Hagi Tudose", a kind of Romanian Scrooge, by the Romanian writer Barbu Stefanescu Delavrancea, etc. He died on February, 27 1956 in Bucharest, Romania.
