Born and raised in Eastern Nebraska, his desire to tell stories led him to Florida, where he pursued a degree in film production from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. Ryan became a staff producer for the school and began crafting his skill as a director, creating commercials and short films. He earned national recognition for his commercial for Palm Beach Motor Cars, winning awards from the Addys, the Tellys, the Ava Awards, the Communicator Awards, the Videographer Awards, and the Aurora Awards. The short film "The Biker," which Ryan produced, also was honored by the Aurora Awards and the Ava Awards. He graduated a semester early, with Summa Cum Laude and as the Most Outstanding Graduate for Cinema/Television. Ryan's skill in shaping visual stories led him around the globe. Shooting in ten countries in four continents, he created promotional material and documentary stories. His passion for adventure led him to shoot in exotic locales such as Brazil, Venezuela, the Dutch Antilles, Haiti, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Kenya, China, and Guam. Ryan's work benefited both business and non-profit organizations. On top of creating the award-winning commercial for Palm Beach Motor Cars, his work for the international broadcasting organization TWR helped raise $900,000. One such project titled "Love Asia by Radio," which featured his wife Ansley, also garnered a Telly Award. Before graduating in 2010, Spanish River Church hired Ryan as the Director of Video Production to aid them in producing international promotional material for their multinational church expansion efforts. For the past year, Ryan aided the organization's church-planting efforts through quality documentary stories and promotional content. He also consulted the church on multi-platform communication and aided in the church's transition from an analog platform to a high-definition production and A/V presentation platform. In 2012, he was asked come on as the Assistant Director for the feature film Redemption of the Commons, which successfully wrapped in June of 2012 and is expected to be released in 2013. Ryan directed with a variety of production equipment. On set, he worked with cameras from DSLR's and Panasonic P2-based cameras to Arri SR3 16mm film cameras. Ryan has cut with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Avid.
