Mick Ebeling is a film, television and commercial producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the founder and CEO of The Ebeling Group (TEG), a production company and creative think tank representing some of the world's leading design and directing collectives. His quest to make cool stuff has been relentless. For the last 10 years, he and the other insomniacs at TEG have been making things like James Bond main titles, Grammy nominated music videos, commercials for Fortune 100 brands and Cannes Lion winning shows. With an existing list of producing credits on such films as Stranger Than Fiction (2006), Kite Runner (2007), Package (2007), Quantum of Solace (2008), the award-winning animation Yes, Virginia television special for CBS (2009), a series of short films with Marvel Studios called One-Shots (2011) and for USA Network, Monster Slayer (2011), Ebeling formally launched the film and long form content division at TEG. In 2009, together with his wife, Ebeling started The Not Impossible Foundation, a non-profit organization comprised of thinkers, dreamers and doers with a mission to make impossible ideas possible when the right people are connected and empowered. The EyeWriter - the first project of The Not Impossible Foundation - is an open source, low-cost, DIY device that gives anyone suffering from paralysis the ability to draw again using only his or her eyes. Getting Up beautifully documents the journey of The EyeWriter's creation. Three years ago, Mick was inspired by his friend, ALS patient and famous street artist Tempt, to make something that would allow Tempt to draw again. After a year of planning and scheming, in April of 2009 Mick flew 5 programmers and hackers from around the world to his home and in his living room the EyeWriter was born. The EyeWriter has since been awarded Time Magazine's "Top 50 Inventions of 2010", BBC Future Everything winner of the Lever Prize 2010, Design Museum Brit Insurance Designs of The Year: Interactive Golden Award 2010, Planet Green's 8 Incredible Health Innovations That Transform Lives, Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica 2010, as well as honored at Advertising Age, Creativity's 2010 "The Idea Conference" and in countless articles, blog mentions and TED talks. Based in Venice Beach, Mick is married to Caskey Ebeling, screenwriter and filmmaker, and they have three giant boys names Angus, Bo Jameson and Trace who will be playing in the NBA in 2025, 2027, and 2031 respectively.
