James Kermack is a Writer, Director, Actor & Producer. He started as an actor, which led to him writing and directing for the stage before finding his niche behind the camera in film. His sophomore feature film - Knuckledust (2019) - is an action/thriller with blackly comic undertones. Bought by Samuel Goldwyn Films for all English speaking territories, it was released in the US/UK in December 2020 before releasing in cinemas, streaming and on Blu-Ray worldwide (2021). He co-wrote and Directed DanTDM Presents The Contest (2019) for Endemol. An interactive cinema experience which premiered at Wembley Arena in the UK. His debut feature as writer/director was mental health drama - Hi-Lo Joe (2017) which premiered at the Dinard British Film Festival and released in UK Cinemas in 2018. James has been Head of Development at Featuristic Films for the past five years where he oversees the creative on all projects whilst curating and building the slate with the team. East London boy. Natural born cockney. James trained in Acting & Musical Theatre before embarking on a successful and eclectic theatre career as an actor treading boards from the Old Vic to most No1 UK Touring venues, playing lead roles varying from George in Of Mice and Men, Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls and John Proctor in The Crucible. He set up the successful theatre company Bruised Sky Productions and served as Artistic Director for near 10 years before handing over the reigns. As a screen actor he has appeared in Chernobyl (2019), Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016), Cucumber (2015) & Doctor Who (2015) to name a few.
