Jill began her career running lines with Morgan Freeman at the Public Theatre. She produced and wrote for the theater before transitioning to film. "Once you produce black box theater, you can produce anything!" She's produced, directed, edited and written numerous documentaries that have been broadcast and appeared in festivals worldwide including Atlanta, American Black, Lincoln Center, Martha's Vineyard, Miami, Montclair, Sarasota, Seattle, Tribeca, and Warsaw. She received a scholarship to Killer Films' 20/20/20 program where she directed the narrative shorts "After Tomorrow" and was mentored by legendary producer Christine Vachon. Jill's a produced playwright with work appearing around the world including La MaMa, Dublin Fringe and Actors Studio. She's been a resident of Mabou Mines and an invited participant in CBS Writers' Daytime Development Program. Jill directed, produced and wrote the award-winning documentary "Mr. Chibbs" (Village Voice Critics Pick) about NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson currently on Amazon, Kanopy & Urban Movie Network. It premiered at DOC NYC, was acquired by Abramorama and screened theatrically at IFC Center and Alamo Draft House. Jill received her MFA from Hunter College. She works as a freelance director, producer and editor and teaches film at Purchase College. She is currently a member of Film Fatales and the Producers Guild of America where she is the chair of the Doc Salon Series.
