Jeff Maher is a an award-winning television news journalist working for KOB (NBC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His reports have been seen on NBC News, MSNBC, CNN, The Today Show, Inside Edition, The Weather Channel, CNBC, and Animal Planet. His first award from the Associated Press came from his extensive coverage of Hurrican Rita in 2006 when he was working for KWES (NBC) in Midland, Texas. Since then he has been honored for various reports by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press. The first story he ever covered was when he was 19 years old with the Columbine shooting in Littleton, Colorado in 1999. Maher is a third-generation broadcaster. His father, Jack, is a four-time Emmy award winning Executive Producer who has spent more than 30 years at KUSA (NBC) in Denver. His grandfather was a Hollywood screenwriter, and worked on the 'George Burns and Gracia Allen Show' in the 1950's before working in news in Denver. In March, 2010, Maher was featured as a news anchor in the season premiere of Breaking Bad on AMC. Maher is a native of Denver, Colorado. His brother Matt, is a decorated Iraq war veteran pilot, flying the F-18, EA-6B Prowler, and EA-18 based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Whidbey Island, Washington. Maher spent his teenage years doing stand-up comedy, radio character voices, and creating short films in Denver, Colorado.
