Born in San Jose, CA, Alix Briggs moved to Michigan at the age of 13 to attend Interlochen Arts Academy for theatre. After graduating at 16, she began her studies at the University of Michigan. In 2009, she won a Silver Award for Playwriting in the youngARTS competition, the highest award level received by a writer that year. With youngARTS, she performed at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC.
