Katharina Weithaler is an international actress of Austrian roots with 15 years of experiences in film, TV, radio and theatre in Germany, Turkey, UK, Greece and West Africa. She trained in acting at the Vienna Conservatory of Performing Arts, and later gained her masters in physical theatre at MMU in England. She has played leading parts in acclaimed stage productions such as Lady Macbeth, Catherine in Taming of the Shrew and Clytemnestra at large state theaters in Germany, Poland, Mongolia, Siberia and at the Young Vic in London. She also starred as Velma in the musical Chicago and as Zeitel in The Fiddler on the Roof in Germany. Katharina's TV and film credits include playing Dr. Klein in 8 Seconds (produced by Till Schweiger) and Where the Fire Burns (awarded Best Film at the Montreal Film Festival). She played Queen Catherine for 5 episodes in Kösem Sultan, the most popular TV show in Turkey. Katharina's first documentary A Journey back to the Roots was awarded Best Documentary at the Antakya Film Festival in Turkey 2009. Her first short film Hummus Connection in Aksaray was selected and premiered at The Human Rights Film Festival in Istanbul 2015. Katharina speaks fluent German, English, Turkish, French and Italian. She is currently working as a voice over artist for various dubbing studios in London. Katharina was a competitive swimmer. She practices pole dance, oriental dance, dervish dance, yoga and plays the tenor saxophone. She is a black belt in Xen Do martial arts kickboxing. Katharina has co- written the screenplay and is attached to perform the lead in the forthcoming feature film, BarberElla produced by Wolf & The Gang in London.
