Marlene Guerin

Mar Guerin was born on January 28th in Mexico City, Mexico. From an early age she knew she wanted to be a film director, she started shooting her own short films with her Handycam, using her cousins as actors. After spending her teenage years writing, producing, directing and editing shorts, music videos and weddings, she entered the film industry at age 17. While getting a bachelor's degree in Communication with a major on Film from Universidad Iberoamericana, she also did an associates degree on Screenplay Writing at AMCI (Asociacion Mexicana de Cineastas Independientes). This led her to 1st AD and Script Supervise more than 20 short films. After college she worked as executive assistant for one of Mexico's most recognized novelist and screenplay writers. In 2011, Mar wrote a short story called "La Mujer Que Se Casó Con Un Mueble" which was published at national level for elementary schools. Mar worked in TV Azteca as a comedy writer and has also worked as a 1st and 2nd Assistant Director in many commercials and music videos. In 2013 she started developing her own projects including her first feature film and TV Series. While developing her own projects as a writer and director, Mar has continued her producorial work in long form helping projects shoot around the world making everyone feel at home while away from home.
