Marie Lora-Mungai

Marie Lora-Mungai is a producer, entrepreneur and consultant specialized in the African media industry. She advises and produces film and television in Africa for international companies such a top 5 Hollywood studio and Trace Group, and develops her own projects through her outfit Restless Global, whose slate includes high-end drama series The Trade (10x60') with Canal+ International. Previously Marie also founded pioneer African VOD service Buni.tv (acquired by Trace Group in 2016), and production company Buni Media. Marie executive produced several TV shows across Africa, including the massively popular political satire shows, The XYZ Show (Kenya) and Ogas At The Top (Nigeria), which she also co-created. Before becoming a producer and media entrepreneur, Marie had a successful first career as an award-winning television journalist, working across 3 continents and 15 African countries for CNN, Reuters TV, AFP TV and the BBC. In 2017 she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
