Chirag Sethi was born in Rajpura town (Punjab) near Chandigarh. His father is a business man and his mother is a housewife. From his childhood days his passion was cricket and the performing arts including dancing and acting. He did his schooling from Rajpura itself and then finished his Bachelor in Arts from DAV College in Chandigarh. He wanted to represent his country in cricket and even went for training to Yograj Singh (Yuvraj Singh's father) but on the second day itself his parents became totally against the idea. Halfheartedly he abandoned his cricket dreams and then his other passion took over. He started actively participating in college plays, singing and dance competitions. After graduation he briefly assisted his father in their family business. Along with this he was doing post-graduation in mass communication from the same college and also got enrolled for dance training at SDIPA (Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts) where he was selected to perform at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, Melbourne (Australia) in 2006. Soon after that he joined the 'Drama and Performing Art School' at Mandi (Himachal Pradesh). After completing his course, he moved to Mumbai to pursue acting as a career. After working in a number of ad's his biggest break came when he got a meaty role in south superstar Vijay's 'Thuppaki', which was released in 2012. Director AR Murugadoss was impressed with his performance and decided to cast him for the same character in its Hindi remake 'Holiday', starring Akshay Kumar. 'Holiday', also directed by AR Murugadoss, was released internationally in 2014. After that he did a cameo in the Hollywood film 'Million Dollar Arm' directed by Craig Gillespie, which was also released in 2014. In 2016, he started playing cricket in a reality show called Box Cricket League Punjab, a popular Celebrity Cricket League, from Amisha Patel's team called 'Royal Patialvi'. He also plays cricket in a group of directors/writers/creatives, which is where he was spotted and cast for 'Inside Edge', which was Amazon Prime's first Indian original series, aired in 2017. His performance won him critical acclaim. He was spotted for his talent as an all-rounder and was given a bigger opportunity to play for Mumbai Tigers, in the third season for Box Cricket League, which aired on MTV India in 2018. 2018, saw the release of Nanu Ki Jaanu, a horror-comedy film, where he played a comedy role of Udhariya with Abhay Deol as the lead.
