Matt Nicholas

Matt Nicholas is an American stage actor, screenwriter, producer, and author, who was born to attorney, Peter Hines and businesswoman, Regina Johnson, in Nashville, Tennessee. Both of his parents are African American and separately are of Afro-Latino, Native American, and European ancestry. He was raised between Chicago, Illinois and Paducah, Kentucky and is the eldest of four siblings. He is the grandson of Emmy Award Winner, Burleigh Hines. Matt broke into acting at the age of five, performing in a plethora of stage-plays and musicals on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in stage productions across the United States. After a tenure in the theatre, he transitioned into theatrical acting, screenwriting, producing and authoring books. He is also a social-activist, utilizing his voice and standing in solidarity with causes and movements like: Black Lives Matter, Me Too, Times Up, Human Rights Campaign, Muslim Advocates, and others of those who are marginalized. He aspires to be a part of the change that he wants to see in the entertainment industry and in the world.
