Jessica was born in the small town of La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Always creative, she often made plays for her family and friends while growing up. At the tender age of seventeen, Jessica decided to move to Miami and try her chances at living in America. Miami was a very interesting transition. Jessica attended Miami-Dade college and where she studied English and also started taking acting classes to further her interest in the theatrical arts. She was soon "discovered" by casting agents for Univision and began working regularly as a spokes-model for various Spanish television shows and did quite a few Spanish speaking commercials. Wanting to break in to more mainstream English speaking roles, Jessica next moved to Atlanta. Here she began earnestly studying the Meisner technique and the Stanislavski method with Lisina and John Stoneburner. This led to Jessica's first guest-staring role on the Nickelodeon television series "My Parents, My Sister and Me" with Robin Givens. Jessica was also cast in the feature film "Repentance" starring Forrest Whittaker, who immediately advised that Jessica follow her dream, move to Los Angeles, and become a serious actress. Hollywood was very good to Jessica! She soon had many parts on various films, television shows and commercials. Her desire for more creativity led her to develop the project "Night Angel" with collaborator and director Ben Ramsey. Wanting to further develop her chops, Jessica studied with some of the best acting coaches in Los Angeles including Tom Proctor, April Wester, Peter Wise and Bobby Chance. As many projects started being filmed away from Hollywood and increasingly in the South East United States, Jessica decided to move back to Atlanta where the film industry is much busier than anywhere else and where she could also concentrate on developing new projects. Her recent work on the feature film "Domestic Seduction", television shows including "Madam Secretary" and even a national print ad for "Go Back. Move Ahead" encouraging adults to go back to college have kept Jessica very busy indeed! Jessica's newest passion project is to fight for the rights of underage sex-slaves World-Wide. Her heart is saddened by stories of young boys and girls being sold as prostitutes to tourists. Jessica's dream is to create an organization, and become a voice that helps raise awareness amongst local politicians, so that the innocent children can be protected from this ongoing injustice. Always a fitness enthusiast, Jessica trains also in the Martial Arts, Distance Running, Aerobics and Military Tactics. This has led to many of her roles being very physical in nature. Jessica Medina would make the perfect Action Star.
