Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith is a British actress and model, best known for her roles in films such as Queen & Slim (2019), where she starred alongside Daniel Kaluuya. Born in Peterborough, England, to Jamaican parents, she emigrated to the US and studied finance at the University of Pittsburgh. Upon graduating in 2008 she pursued a career in law before transitioning to acting. Turner-Smith gained recognition for her performances in both television and film, including roles in The Last Ship (2014) and Nightflyers (2018). She is also known for her advocacy for representation and her unique position as a trailblazer for Black women in Hollywood. Turner-Smith has garnered attention for her talent, beauty, and for challenging traditional industry standards. She was married to actor Joshua Jackson, and they have a daughter together.
