Daniel's first foray into filmmaking was when he "borrowed" his dad's camcorder at the age of 19 and started making homemade kung-fu action movies with his friends. Prior to this, his main interest had been to pursue an acting career, but a combination of the expense of training and the fact he was probably not that good at it made him look at a career behind the camera instead. Seeking to develop his interest and skills, Daniel studied Video Production and Film Studies to degree level at Reading College/TVU and spent most of the last two years on the course directing the fiction projects including "Not By Accident" (2006) and "The Karma Palace" (2007). After graduating, Daniel worked on a variety of independent fiction films and shorts as a low-rent Director of Photography, including the zombie action short "The Good, The Bad and The Undead" (2008) and "Winding Wood Drive" (2009). In 2010 Daniel and screenwriter Luke Owen co-created the online scifi anthology series "The Collector's Room," where Daniel directed several episodes (including "The Last Serenade" and "The Star") before the project was prematurely shelved in early 2011. In addition to his directing career, Daniel runs a small showreel scene creation company for actors called ReelScenes and works as a self-shooter on a range of projects. His ambition is to direct films and programmes as entertaining, well-made and full of the magic of cinema as childhood classics like Star Wars, Back to the Future and the Indiana Jones movies. When he's not filming, Daniel sometimes trains in martial arts and tries to play the guitar. Badly.
