Ryan started his career as an assistant in the Warner Bros Estimating Department, learning the "business" of the business. Then as a Production Assistant on FRIENDS and ROCK ME BABY, where he learned focus, dedication, and a passion to be better. Then he moved on to a Writer's Assistant on the Lifetime show MISSING. Then as a Writer/Producer on over 15 independent short films, which transitioned to TOP CHEF, TOP CHEF II, TREASURE HUNTERS, MADE IN AMERICA and LAST COMIC STANDING. Next, he ghost re-wrote a feature-length comedy for Lion's Gate, titled FRANKENHOOD. Later, I developed, created and produced an Infotainment program, SPOTLIGHT. This lead to writing an episode of the CBS hit "CRIMINAL MINDS". There I realized I could do this. I could write holding my own next to some of the best in the industry. Head still spinning from Criminal Minds I traveled to Nigeria to teach screenwriting to over 250 eager young filmmakers with the New York Film Academy. It was during this time teaching that I became aware I had something to offer young and emerging writers. Africa awakened an understanding in me about myself I didn't know was there, I wanted to teach. I wanted to pay forward all I had been taught, from the pitfalls to the peaks. This led me to develop Script Therapy Inc. and the Writing Workshops associated with it. Three more trips to Africa later and that passion still burned brightly. The most important lesson I've learned is writing is a sacred gift and those writers have the ability to change the hearts and minds of an audience, to show people a different perspective on the world. And it's my greatest joy to work with those writers to achieve that goal.
