Ramuel Galarza is a Puerto Rican filmmaker living in New York City. He grew up in Gainesville, Florida; surrounded by medical academia, senior homes, and swamps. When he was eight years old, he experimented with the family's VHS-C camcorder; capturing family moments and filming skits with his sisters. Ramuel watched the behind the scenes content on DVD's and VHS's; learning as much as he could about visual effects, acting, and directing. When he entered high school, he took a film class to confirm if he was good enough to turn his passion into a long career. It was the encouragement he needed to apply to the coveted Film School at Florida State University, where he graduated with a BFA in Motion Picture Arts. His work has screened at multiple film festivals and garnered awards and nominations such as Best Dramatic Short, Best Horror Short, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, and Audience Choice Award.
