Clark Stephens started performing at the age of about eighteen months, his first role was 'Noddy', at a fate opened by Lady Emma Cavendish. He was attracted to the stage by a performance in the school nativity play at St. Leonard's Primary School, Streatham, London. He became a chorister at St. Leonard's Church and he was also a member of the Westminster Abbey Special Choir. He moved on to the Bec Grammer School in Tooting where he was involved in all the productions and in an inter house Drama Competition took the leading role Directed by Art Malik, and they won. By the age of sixteen he be came a regular performer in Folk Clubs in the London Area. The first was The Unity Folk Club Theatre in Islington. The Manor Arms, in Streatham, opposite his old school and Peanuts in Liverpool Street led him on to become the Resident Singer at The Cabbage Patch Folk Club in Twickenham, every Sunday Night. He also ran his own club at Carshalton College in Surrey. The organisers of The Cabbage Patch, Alan Robinson, Mike Watson and Ken pushed him on to The Robert. W. Kember Agency. Clark spent much time singing in pubs, clubs and restaurants. He also did some roadie work for Marianne Segal who was doing shows with Labi Siffre. The he did summer seasons for Feathers in Berwick upon Tweed and for Pontins at Christchurch and Hemsby. In 1975 he passed auditions for Opportunity Knocks. He got involved with Norman Newell (EMI) and participated on a record with Danny la Rue and Geoff Love. A little later he made records with Kenny Woodman (Puppet on a String). His first television appearance was in a commercial for British Leyland Cars. The cars were playing Cricket, many of the famous cricketers of the day were also involved, Dickie Bird was the umpire. 1978. In 1979 he was in School Play, a television play with Denholm Elliot, Jenny Agutter, Tim Piggot Smith. Amongst many other shows. The Testament of Youth starring Cheryl Campbell was filmed some time around 1981 and 1982, Clark appeared in several roles including a character called Mr. Barns. In 1981 he appeared as himself, performing his own song, Ug, in TV B Pearl in Hong Kong. He did two television series in 1986 and 1987 in Hong Kong called Boomerang for RTHK. He was also a regular contributor to various radio programmes in Hong Kong and other parts of the Far East and Europe. In 1985 he was a Policeman in the first two episodes of the EastEnders Programme. In 1987 he was a German Soldier in Wish Me Luck with Warren Clark and Kate Buffery. Clark's very successful Schools Drama Workshops with Personal Development took him to twenty countries. His song writing and singing led him to many albums nine or ten are still available for sale. As are two DVD's Absolutely Alive and Acoustic Harvest. In the 1990's he ran a Drama Holiday Centre which was featured on North Tonight and on Radio 4 and in the Independent Newspaper. Cheryl Campbell and Melvin Hayes were patrons of this venture. He lived in Switzerland during the 2000's where he owned a Restaurant Concert Venue. He performed there regularly and he also promoted concerts there. Since returning to the United Kingdom he has turned his talents to performing for Senior People. Performing more than two hundred and fifty shows in 2015. In 2012 he was a part of Postcode Films The Seaside World of Punch and Judy. Glyn Edwards and Jamie Taylor. Clark Stephens has used various brand names over the forty one years of his career so far.
